Millsite grand opening July 9
The grand opening for the new nine at the Millsite golf course is July 9. The course will be open for public tours from 8-10 a.m. The ribbon cutting will follow at 10 a.m. and the four person scramble tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. There will be refreshments served throughout the day and representatives from Callaway and Ping will be there to support the opening and host demonstrations.
Relay For Life Update
Come to Emery High track on July 15 at 6 p.m. for a great evening of family fun. This public event is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The opening ceremony and survivor walk will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a potato bar dinner and entertainment throughout the night. They are thrilled to have the White Peak Centennial Pipe Band performing and activities for kids in the kids corner. There will be a bouncy house, face painting, fishpond, ring toss, golfing, bowling, and more. A movie at dusk, karaoke at midnight, teen comedy at 2 a.m. Plenty to keep you busy. Join your community in the fight.
23rd Army band of the Utah National Guard to perform
On July 7 at the Castle Dale Rodeo Grounds Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. the National Guard band will perform. The concert is free.
Lunch and Learn
The Emery County Business Chamber Lunch and Learn will be on July 20 at noon at the Museum of the San Rafael. The featured speaker is Candide M. Lopez and the topic is promoting your business and customer relations management: serving customers so well they keep coming back. Call 381-2431 to reserve your spot. The cost of the luncheon is $12 and R Pizza Place is thecaterer for the event.
Alcoholics Anonymous
An AA meeting will be held every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Ferron at the Senior Center, 190 N. 300 W. For information call Paul -749-9697 or Jan – 384-2773.
2011 San Rafael Classic Triathlon
Huntington State Park, July 9. Race events start at 6:15 a.m. The Junior Triathlon will begin immediately after the adults finish their events. The awards ceremony will conclude Saturday’s events immediately following the Junior Triathlon.
Car Wash Fundraiser
The Cleveland Fire Department will hold a car wash on July 16 at 9 a.m. to raise funds for the Cleveland Days Fireworks. If you love the Cleveland Fireworks, then come and support the fundraiser and show your support to the dedicated volunteers. First five customers receive a free “Cleveland Rocks” T-shirt.
Texaco Country Showdown
Castle Country Radio is sponsoring the Texaco Country Showdown for both Price and Castle Dale this summer.
KARB Kickin Country 98.3 will host the First Texaco Country Showdown on July 28-29. We will hold a preliminary showdown at 7 p.m. on July 28 at the Price Peace Gardens during the opening ceremonies of International Days.
KOAL AM 750/103.9 FM will host the second Texaco Country Show down on Aug. 5 in Castle Dale during the Emery County Fair. One contestant will be awarded our winner and move on to the state competition in Salt Lake City. Contestants may enter both Texaco Country Showdowns in Price and Castle Dale. One entry form must be completed for each showdown.
