Myron Lisonbee Pierce

HUNTINGTON-Myron Lisonbee Pierce, beloved husband, father and grandpa, succumbed to the effects of diabetes and a debilitating stroke on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, one day before his 78th birthday.
Myron was born to Henry LeRoy Pierce and Roseybell Stevens in Spanish Fork, Utah on Sept. 7, 1933. He grew up in and around Spanish Fork and when his nation called, Myron proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force. After his service he married his sweetheart Connie Rae Johnson of Palmyra, Utah in the Manti Temple.
His employment moved him around as he searched for a place to settle down. He did move his family to California where he was involved in the development and production of the Gemini, Mercury and Apollo programs as an instrument tech.
He later moved his family to Utah, preferring the peace of a small town atmosphere. He lived in Summit, where he tried his hand at farming and taught his children the value of hard work. Later
he moved to Oak City, Clover (Rush Valley) and finally Lawrence, all towns in Utah.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, camping and fishing. He was an avid gardener, proud of his home grown produce. One of his passions was computers as he always strived to keep up with the newest technologies while he could.
As a member of the LDS church he held many callings and since he was good with numbers he was a natural clerk. He really enjoyed doing temple work with his beloved wife, preferring of course the Manti Temple, which has become a family tradition for marriages.
Myron is survived by his wife Connie now of Milford, Utah, two sons, Douglas Jay of Milford, Richard Wesley (Aparecida) of West Valley. Two daughters, Susan Rae (Tom) McGinnis of Milford, and Roseybell Phyllis Blake also of Milford. He also left 11 grandchildren. Myron was preceded in death by his eldest son Myron Lee (Buzz) and his grandson Bryan McGinnis. He also was the last surviving of his siblings.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS First and Fifth Ward Chapel (115 South 400 East in Huntington.) A viewing was held on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment was in the Huntington City Cemetery.
