The Emery County Sheriff’s Office has released information that a former deputy has been arrested for burglary and theft at the sheriff’s office.
Clayton Bell a former employee worked for the sheriff’s office up until Oct. 1 when he resigned.
Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk said the incident is still under investigation. Bell was charged, arrested and booked and he has posted bail. The State Bureau of Investigation is handling the investigation of the case.
The burglary and theft occurred at the Emery County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 16.
The Emery County attorney’s office is reviewing the case and waiting for all statements to be compiled so they can screen the statements so formal charges can be filed.
A date for arraignment is pending. County Attorney David Blackwell said official charges are pending in the case.
