PRICE, UTAH: Silas “Bud” Austin, 87, died March 8, 2013 in Show Low, Arizona. He was born Dec. 12, 1925 in Richard, Missouri to Silas Austin, Sr. and Jessie Lawrence. He married Barbara Norton in Elko, Nevada on Jan. 24, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Silas was raised in Richards, Mo. He was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1963. For 32 years, he worked as a truck driver. Silas liked painting, camping, training his dogs, western movies, and spending time with family. He did not like salad.
He is survived by his wife; Barbara, five children: Ladonna, Jessie, Barbie, LaRie, and Nicki as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, his three sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday March 15, 2013 at the Price North Stake Center, 449 N. 100 E., A viewing will be Thursday March 14, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Fausett Mortuary in Price, and on Friday from 10:10:45 am prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at Cliffview Cemetery in Price, Utah. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
