Two Emery County Sheriff’s Office employees finished their requirements. for POST and Corrections. Mike VanWagoner and Mike Grange have graduated.
To become POST certified they must attend 15 weeks of training and pass tests on the subject matter as well as physical fitness tests.
The Peace Officer Standards Training is done in Salt Lake and the trainees stay at the facility there during their training.
Once the Emery County deputies are POST certified, they are eligible for a raise and can become a parole deputy.
Mike Grange spent 13 weeks to become Corrections certified. This means he is qualified to work in corrections throughout the state.
