Lorie Huntington Dunsmore, 61, of Draper, passed peacefully in her sleep at home Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. Born May 9, 1955, in Price, Utah, to Raymond (Ray) Leonard and Norma Beach Huntington. Married to Dennis Alan Dunsmore on June 9, 1982.
Lorie was a long time resident of Utah. She graduated from Emery County High School followed by her graduation from Stevens-Henager College with a degree in Business Management. After graduation, she was employed in the food service industry starting at Spud Nut Donut where she worked with her loved sister, Susan. From there she moved on to Sysco Co., followed most recently by Nicholas and Co., where she finished her career. While working in the food service industry, she met and married the love of her life, Dennis Dunsmore, to whom she was married for 35 years. Lorie loved her one and only child with all of her heart and was fortunate enough to see her son become engaged.
Beyond the unconditional love she had for her family, Lorie enjoyed reading, traveling cross-country with her husband on their Honda GoldWing, playing fetch with their puppies, spending time on the patio with family and friends, and watching movies, (she was also an obnoxiously talented fly fisherman). Lorie always did what was best for others and always put others before herself. During the years while she battled cancer, you would never hear her utter a word of discomfort or discouragement as she was the most positive and uplifting person in the room.
Lorie is survived by her beloved husband Dennis; only child, Chad Allen Dunsmore; Chad’s fiancé, Allison Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Susan Huntington and Sean Kearney; along with her forever loved nieces and nephews, Tyson, Amanda, Kade, Jessica, and Jordan. Preceding her in death was her younger brother, Lloyd Ray Huntington; mother Norma Huntington; and father Ray Huntington. She is now in peace with her parents and brother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, 10 a.m., at Mountain Point 3rd Ward, 498 East Hollow Creek Road (14085 S.), Draper, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Friday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. Interment will follow services in the Orangeville Cemetery, Orangeville Utah. Donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the name of Lorie Huntington Dunsmore.
