The Emery High boys cross country team finished second at the just completed 2-A state championships held at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City. They finished first in their region the previous week.
Millard High finished first with 72 points while the Spartans scored 83 points and North Summit scored 93 points to finish third. Millard runners finished third, 14th, 15th, 16th and 24th.
Chase Christiansen finished 11th in scoring followed by Ty Funk in 12th and Tanyon Allred 13th. The Spartan threesome finished within five seconds of each other as they ran the course together. McKay Meccariello finished 21st and the final scorer for Emery was Griffin Livingston in 26th place. Also running for Emery were Daryl Guymon and Lane Taylor. Guymon finished in 30th and Taylor in the 46th spot.
