CARBONVILLE-Loretta Ann “Rita” Pollock, age 76, passed away Nov. 5, 2016 in Provo.
She was born April 2, 1940 in Cortez, Colorado to Arthur Paul and Bernice Sparks Holly. Mom started her life in Colorado and met the love of her life Jerald K. Pollock in the early sixties. They married in Carbon County on Dec. 28, 1960 and raised three incredible daughters. She was extremely proud of each of them and their families.
Mom and Dad raised race horses. She loved to follow them across the west, seeing them run and always placing bets to win! Rita also liked any casino with a slot machine. She spent her entire life managing convenient stores, restaurants and people. She touched many lives through her career and will be remembered as a woman who would help anyone in need.
Rita thoroughly enjoyed taking in a JAZZ game in Salt Lake, watching the University of Utah football games and more recently cheering on the Cubs while in the hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Jerald Pollock, Carbonville; her girls and their spouses, Trona (Steve) Scales, Pagosa Springs, Colo., Randa (Ed) Hickman, Miller Creek, Jeri (John) Houston, Price; sisters, Willa Dean Hall, Cortez, Colo., Sharon Lee, Bullhead City, Ariz.; good friend and gambling partner, Carrie Hanson, Price; beloved grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Denny, Tomi Bear, Charly (Eli) Roby, Chariety (Greg) Riggs, K.C. Johansen, Dan (Meghan) Hickman, Carla (Brian) Saccomano and Bobby Houston; 19 great-grandkids and many special nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents and in-laws, Joe and Juanita Pollock.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, 10 a.m., Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
