Blue Castle Project, the leading new nuclear plant project site in the Western U.S. will conduct a webinar providing power pricing and equity participation options for load serving utilities and other power purchasers in the Western U.S. from the Blue Castle Project, a two-unit nuclear power plant under development in Green River. The webinar will occur on Dec. 8, at 11 AM MST. This webinar will address the high level financial, economic, regulatory and operational advantages associated with the Blue Castle Project, and its electrical output available throughout the Western U.S.
The webinar is also intended for Investor Owned and Public Power Utility executives, power procurement personnel, regulators and elected officials who have oversight for power costs and procurement risk. Members of the media may also attend.
More than 13,000 MWe of coal fired electrical power is scheduled for retirement throughout the Western U.S. All of this retiring capacity cannot be prudently replaced with natural gas units and/or intermittent renewables alone. The recent selection and regulatory rate recovery approval of an existing nuclear power resource to replace about 30 percent of a Western U.S. coal plant retirement validates that a balanced resource mix, which includes nuclear power, is part of a preferred, stable, low cost and environmentally optimal approach to replacing retiring coal fired power.
The Blue Castle Project has reduced deployment, financial, and regulatory risk with its advanced project development over the last 10 years. The project provides a clear path to include new nuclear power as a portion of a well-balanced resource portfolio with reduced risk and financial commitment. Blue Castle Holdings has announced, jointly with Westinghouse Electric Company, pursuing the Blue Castle Project development based on the Westinghouse AP1000 design.

Blue Castle Holdings Inc. is an energy infrastructure development company based in Utah. It is presently developing the leading new nuclear plant project site in the Western U.S.
The proposed multi-unit Blue Castle Nuclear Project could increase the electricity generated in Utah by approximately 30 percent by adding 2,200 Megawatts of installed electrical capacity. It is expected that about 1,000 permanent full-time employees will work at the plant for 60 years, and that more than 2,500 workers will work during the projected six year construction of the multi-unit plant.
