FERRON- Donald David Ethan Winter returned with honor to his loving Heavenly Father on Nov. 27, 2016.
Ethan was born on Nov. 1, 1998 to his loving parents in Sandy, Utah. Ethan and his family moved to Ferron, Utah in 2004. Ethan was a Senior at Emery High School where he was loved and looked up to by many.
Ethan will be remembered as being loving, kind and willing to help and serve others in any way possible. He was always one of the first to show up for a service project, and one of the last to leave. He would do anything he was asked, even if he really didn’t want to, and usually with a good attitude. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest degree possible. Ethan loved to make others smile, and worked hard at things that were important to him.
Ethan was a leader and good example to his siblings, cousins, friends and the young men in his ward. He protected and guided his family and friends and stood up for what he knew was right. Ethan was the best big brother, cousin, friend, grandchild, nephew and son anyone could have.
Ethan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a very strong testimony of the gospel. He was preparing and excited to serve a mission for his Father in Heaven. His greatest desire in life was to be obedient and make his parents, both earthly and heavenly, proud of him. He wanted to spread the word of the gospel and the peace and happiness that comes through the faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ and his atonement. He is now serving his mission a few months early on the other side of the veil.
Ethan loved spending time with his family. Whether it be a friendly game of soccer, snowmobiling and playing in the snow, games with his siblings, or just teasing and laughing with them – being with them was one of his greatest joys.
Ethan’s greatest love, next to God and family, was playing soccer. He developed a great talent for it at an early age. He was looking forward to playing this spring for Emery High School and had high hopes of helping his team bring home a state championship.
Ethan also loved being outdoors. His favorite past time, while waiting for the next soccer season, was snowmobiling. He also liked hunting, camping, and ATV riding.
Ethan was loved by many and will be missed more than words can say.
Ethan is survived by his parents, Troy and Cresta Winter; six siblings, Brock Winter, Alexis Winter, Rhett Winter, Sethaniel Winter, Elijah Winter and Luis Esteban “Chevy” Martinez Urzola; grandparents, Barry and Lucinda Winter, Shelly and Joaquin Estrada, and Wilma Mitch; many loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at the Ferron Millsite LDS Ward at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends at the church Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Ferron City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Ethan online at mitchellfuneralhome.net.
