DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University awarded more than 5,300 undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees during its annual commencement ceremony May 14. Duke President Richard H. Brodhead presided over the ceremony at Wallace Wade Stadium, and philanthropist and financier David Rubenstein, a Duke alumnus, delivered the commencement address. The following local student was among those to receive degrees: Alexis “Lexi” Alayne Stokes. She is the daughter of David and Nikie Stokes of Cleveland. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
